ANHEDONIA is a two-part series by Enrique Agudo (b. Madrid, 1989) exploring the instability of self-portraiture in the post-digital age. In a multi-channel video installation, Agudo combines 3D animation, found footage, and real-time visual processing to create portraits where curated self-image, memory, and distortion collapse into unstable formations of identity. The title refers to the condition of anhedonia, the inability to feel pleasure, which here becomes a framework for reflecting on the shifting nature of selfhood and the tension between belonging and estrangement. From these moving images, Agudo extracts stills that are then translated into monumental woven tapestries. Rooted in the Spanish tradition of textile craftsmanship, the tapestries extend the project into physical space, transforming fleeting digital frames into dense, tactile surfaces. This passage from screen to fabric enacts a dialogue between fast and slow cultures, between the immaterial velocity of digital media and the patient labor of craft, metaphorically weaving the digital and the physical.
